I have no words to do justice to the amazing person Phoebe was. I met her when my children started piano lessons with her. Phoebe and I connected on many things and long after my boys moved on from piano, our friendship remained and grew. She was so brilliant when it came to music - there was nothing, and I do mean nothing, that she didn´t know. I only heard her play once, briefly. (She didn´t do much playing over the years I knew her.) But that one time made me think that "surely this can´t be the same piano I am playing." With a subtle, artist´s touch on the keys and her perfectly poised hands, she could deliver a sound like no other!
I will always fondly remember the wonderful community of families she built up around her. We were fortunate to be one of them. She also got me playing the piano again and a wonderful friendship grew with Anne Evans, my accomplished duet partner, now, for 15 years.
I will miss Phoebe´s friendship, her counsel on life, her humor and her talent. My heart goes out to Leila, Nadia, David and Sami. Oh how she loved you all - and her grandchildren. She talked about you all, with much pride. I will miss Phoebe forever.
