Phyllis Rachel (Johnson) Banks of Forbes, Missouri died June 20, 2024 at the age of 102 at Oregon Care Center, Oregon, MO. She was born March 3, 1922, in Wichita, Kansas to Earl and Vivian (Hartsell) Johnson.
Phyllis was a long-time Holt County resident, farmer, herb grower, good cook, and bird watcher, who raised three children, along with her husband John C. Banks, on the family farm east of Forbes.
She is preceded in death by husband John Charles Banks; sisters Lois June (Johnson) Cannon and Dolores (Johnson) Davis; brother Gary Johnson; and grandson Bayley Banks.
Phyllis is survived by daughter Christina Ann (Jim) Furber; granddaughter Sarah Jane Furber (Austin Brown); grandson Andrew James (Andrea) Furber, great granddaughter Avery Elaine Furber, great grandson Aidan James Furber; son, John Charles (former daughter-in-law Genila) Banks; grandson Kyle Banks (Staci); great granddaughter Mykala (Ben) Gardner
great-great grandson: Jude Gardner; great-great granddaughters: Ensley and Islay Gardner granddaughter Arianna Banks (Frank Folsom); son David Evan (Billie) Banks; granddaughter Bobbie (Ray) Person; great granddaughters, Lillian Milne,
Stella June and Layla Ann Person, granddaughter Rachel (Derek) Doucet; and great granddaughter, Valianne Doucet.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
