Edward Eugene Brawdy, 68, formerly of Independence, Missouri passed away July 18, 2024 at his Oregon, Missouri home.
Edward graduated from Kansas City's Park Hill High School in 1974, and then entered the United States Army in August of that year. He served part of his military service stationed in Hawaii, and Sergeant Brawdy was honorably discharged in 1986.
Edward lived much of his life in Independence, Missouri where he drove a truck for Penske and other companies. He moved to Oregon, Missouri in 2022 to be closer to family.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Winfield Brawdy and Colleen V. (Wiese) Brawdy; and one sister, Virginia L. Bundy.
Survivors include his children, Kevin Brawdy, Rossville, Georgia, Anthony (Jessica) Brawdy, Valdosta, Georgia, Jennifer (Derrick) Foster, Iola, Kansas and Elizabeth (Tyler) Shupe, Oregon, Missouri; one sister, Pam Brawdy, Gravois Mills, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Charles, Makayla, Megan, Saylor, Olivia, Isabel, Oliver, Nora, and Dean; and one great grandchild, McKenzie.
Edward was a proud veteran who enjoyed meeting with a group called Park Hill Veterans, camping, hunting and fishing.
Memorial service with military honors and inurnment: 11:00 am, July 23rd, 2024, Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Edward's name at www.veteranscommunityproject.org.
