Phyllis T. Barthel

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Phyllis Barthel on July 14, 2024 in Brookfield, WI. at the age of 89. Phyllis was born on March 15, 1935, in Sheboygan, WI, and lived a life full of love and compassion as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was known as a sweet woman with a beautiful smile.
Phyllis married the love of her life, Ronald, on April 16, 1955, in Sheboygan, WI and, after Ron returned from service in the US Army in Germany in 1959, moved to Milwaukee, WI where they lived and raise their family until 1997 when they moved back to Sheboygan Falls, WI to live out their golden years. Phyllis, who worked for Park Bank in various positions for over 20 years, also was active in her son's activities including President of the PTA at their grade school, den mother for the Cub Scout troop and various roles with the Milwaukee Continental Youth Bands. She also loved traveling, especially to Florida and Disney World, camping with her family, spending time at their place on Lake Puckaway and golfing with her husband. She also enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels and singing with the Golden Chordaliers.
She is survived by her children, Brian (and wife Carla) and their children Kyle (and partner Emily), Alex, Jakob, Rachel; Jim (and wife Kelly) and their children Matt (and wife Stephanie), Libby and Andrew in addition to her great-grandson Remy, as well as her sister Kay Nooyen and children Annette, Becky and Andrew. Phyllis also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family members who will miss her deeply. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Ronald, as well as her parents, Walter and Alvera Berndt, her grandmother Theresa Kurtz and Ronald's parents, Gustav and Oranda Barthel and other close relatives and friends.
Visitation followed by Memorial Service to celebrate Phyllis' life will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The American Parkinson Disease Association.
Phyllis' family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Sunrise Meadows Senior Living and Preceptor Hospice Care for their compassionate care and support during her final days.
Phyllis' warmth, kindness, and love for her Family will forever remain in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
