Phyllis A. Beal, 82, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 3:10 pm June 1, 2024 at her residence. She was born January 16, 1942 in Bonnie, Illinois to the late Harold and Dorothy (Wilson) Johnson. Phyllis married Bert Beal on May 14, 1960. They were blessed with thirty-five years of marriage before he preceded her in death on November 4, 1995.
Phyllis is survived by daughters, Paula Loman and husband, Steve, Teresa Williams and husband, Steve, all of Mount Vernon; grandsons, Jason Reich and Cody Loman and Jaime Williamson, all of Mount Vernon; granddaughter, Courtney Kinamore and husband, Jack of Des Peres, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Madison and Hudson Reich, Austin Barbre, Charlie and August Loman, Grayson and Lucas Kinamore; brothers, Ernie Johnson and Terry Johnson and wife, Mitzi; sisters, Diana Morgan, Connie McCluskey and husband, Martin, Bonnie Wood and husband, Michael, and Pamela Staats and husband, Frank; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her step father, Cecil Johnson who raised her; granddaughter, Katie Williams; and brother, Bob Johnson.
Phyllis was a sweet person who loved her family and animals.
Per her wishes, there will be no services held. Memorials may be made in Phyllis's honor to the Humane Society.
