Phyllis Brickler Obituary
Phyllis was born March 15, 1945, to parents Williard and Mildred "June" (Martin)Berninger in Stockwell, Indiana.
She graduated from Central Catholic High School. She was a devoted, loving wife to Joseph Brickler, her husband of 60 years. They married at Saint Mary's Cathedral in Lafayette, Indiana in December of 1965. Together they owned and operated The Picturetaker & Associates for nearly 40 years. She and Joe retired to the Myrtle Beach area in 2017. She was a beloved mother to René (Brickler) Cahill and a doting grandmother to two granddaughters. She was greeted in Heaven by her son Darius Scot Brickler, her sister Elsie Edmondson, brother Wayne Berninger, and her parents. She leaves behind her husband, daughter, son-in-law Scott Cahill, granddaughters Samantha Cahill (Ventura, CA), Rebecca Walton and her husband Christopher Walton (Eutawville, SC) and a multitude of friends who have become family to carry on her legacy of selflessness and strength.
A celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 12-3pm at the Rush Pavilion (formerly the Scott Street Pavilion in Columbian Park), 1915 Scott Street Lafayette IN, 47904
In Lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation in Phyllis' name to www.marchofdimes.org. Select "Dedicate My Donation" then "In Memory Of".
