The funeral service for Phyllis W. Brundell, 81, of Aberdeen, SD, will be 12:30pm, Friday, April 7, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with Pastor Matt Spoden officiating. Burial at Riverside Cemetery. Phyllis died Thursday, March 30th, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:30pm, Thursday, followed by a prayer service at 7:30pm at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street.
Phyllis W. Squier was born August 14, 1941, in Charles City, IA to George and Opal (Tibbits) Squier. She grew up in Nelson, Minnesota where she met the love of her life Leslie and they were united in marriage June 5, 1959. Together, they raised three children and enjoyed many family trips together. In 1993, they moved to Aberdeen.
Phyllis enjoyed baking. She often cooked a feast fit for a king. If you ever went to her house for a meal, you never left hungry! She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her family was her world. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Phyllis enjoyed life to the fullest and love to laugh. She loved people and loved helping everyone! Phyllis was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Grateful for having shared Phyllis's life are her children: Sheri Brundell, Aberdeen, Jeffrey Brundell, Watertown, SD; six grandchildren: Melissa (Rocky) Lahammer, Aberdeen, Nick Plihal, Shafer, MN, Jason Brundell, Aberdeen, Tyler Plihal (Kelsey Showalter), Glencoe, MN, Mason Wietrefe, Aberdeen, SD, Travis Plihal, Glencoe, MN; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Duane (Kim) Squier, Ely, MN; sister, Sandy Schulte, Gaylord, MN; brother-in-law, Bruce Brundell, Alexandria, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Phyllis in death are her husband, Leslie Brundell; parents, George Squier and Opal Tibbits; daughter, Cindy Brundell; brothers, Roger, Truman, Burr, Wendell, and Gary; sisters, Irene, Inez, Shirley, Dolores, Bonnie, Marlene, Donna; and special friend, Ray.
