Bruce Byron Brundell, a loving father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 8, 2025, at the age of 82 at Alomere Health in Alexandria. Born on October 24, 1942, in Alexandria, MN, Bruce was a proud local who graduated from Jefferson High School in 1960. He then enlisted into the United States Army from 1961-1964. After completing his training in the Aircraft Maintenace Department at Fort Tucker Alabama, Bruce completed a tour of duty in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic. Bruce went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Joan Hagstrom, on August 18, 1961. Together, they built a beautiful life in Alexandria, raising three boys: Brian, Jon, and Gary.
For many years, Bruce was a dedicated truck driver for Land O' Lakes, and he later worked for Brundell Landscaping until he retired. Besides working hard, Bruce was passionate about stock car racing, both as a spectator and as a driver in the mid-70s. He also found a love for golfing and proudly recorded a Hole in One! When Bruce was not golfing, he could be found at his favorite hangout, the Corral in Nelson. Many fun times were had there with his family and friends over the years.
Bruce cherished the memories made at his farm, where laughter, stories, and bonfires brought family and friends together for countless celebrations. But perhaps what brought him the most joy were the weekends spent with his grandchildren. The countless of hours Bruce had spending with his grandchildren gave him precious memories that kept him happy to his last day here on earth and memories he will share in heaven.
Bruce is survived by his sons, Brian Brundell, Jon Brundell, and Gary (Penny) Brundell; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joan Brundell and four brothers.
A Celebration of Bruce's life will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 2PM at the home of Gary and Penny Brundell, 4600 County Road #73 NE, Alexandria, MN.
A Memorial Service will begin at 2:30 PM followed by full military honors accorded by the Minnesota Honor Guard and the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
659 Voyager Drive NW, Alexandria, MN 56308
