Phyllis Kay Byrd passed away on August 23, 2025 in St. Augustine, FL. She was born in Kimberly, West Virginia on February 24, 1946. Her family moved to St. Augustine, FL when she was around nine years old. She married when she was 18 and then had two daughters. She enjoyed being a housewife and caring for her family. As her children grew up and had children of their own, Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her two daughters and four grandchildren. She enjoyed laughing and sharing memories of her childhood with them. She loved her Jesus and never missed an opportunity to tell people about Him, from family members to doctors to random people in the stores and restaurants. That's who she was. Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Beverly Monk and Janet Horne; grandchildren, Ashley Monk, Joseph Horne, Daniel Horne and Chelsea Richardson; brothers, James Wesley Holstein (Darlene), Walter Clarence Holstein (Beverly), Paul Edward Holstein, Omer Lee Holstein; sisters, Bertha Mae Tedder (Frank), Stella Jean Pearson (Thomas), Patricia Ann Miller (Richard) and many nieces and nephews and others whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Anna Mae Holstein and her sisters Linda Lou Prevatt and Mary Elizabeth Holstein. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29 from 10 am until time of Funeral Service at 11 am at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. Graveside Service will follow at Craig Memorial Park.
