Phyllis Sue Carlile

Phyllis Sue Carlile, 88, of Thompsonville, IL., passed away on Wednesday March 25, 2026 at her home. She will join her husband CL. They were married March 2, 1954. They shared 71 years together before he passed November 2025.

Phyllis was born on September 21, 1937 to Lavern and Laura Sue (Reider) Roach. Phyllis was the 2nd of 8 children.

Phyllis and CL have 3 children; Cathy (Speck) Fletcher, Kenton (Jane) Carlile; and Christy (Rob) Chrostoski. 9 grandchildren Wade (Becky) Fletcher, Stacey (Wade) Finnie, Robbie (Jason) Roberts, K.C. (Casey) Carlile, Christopher Chrostoski, Whitney (Mike) Hammond, Devin Carlile, Zane Carlile, and Emma Carlile. 16 great-grandchildren Blaine Oglesby, Madison Fletcher, Eran Angelton, Megan Fletcher, Mason Fletcher, Christina Chrosotski, Gabbie Roberts, Damien Roberts, Conner Carlile, Wyatt Carlile, Josie Carlile, Colton Hammond, Chloe Hammond, Graham Finnie, Macayla Belvins, and Codi Finnie; and 4 great-great-grandchildren Weston Smith, Elliott Angelton, Avery Williams, and Warren Oglesby.

Phyllis is survived by children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sisters Bette (Bill) Lambert and Marla (Keith) Patten; brother Artie (Katie) Roach; brother-in-law Jim Moss; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband CL; parents Lavern and Laura Sue Roach; sisters Marilyn Moss, Beverly Rosoho, Sharon Pedigo; brother Ken Roach, brother-in-law Nick Rosoho; and sister-in-law June Roach.

Services will be held on Sunday March 29, 2026 in the Union Funeral Home at 2:00pm with Pastor Wade Finnie officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Association Cemetery in Thompsonville. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 2:00pm prior to the service.
