Phyllis Copley Obituary

CAMP BENNETT— Phyllis R. Copley, 96, died on Monday, January 8, 2023, at the Minford Retirement Center. Born on July 7, 1927, in New Boston, she was a daughter of the late John Earl and Virgie Lee Applegate Kennard.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Elwood Copley; a daughter, Karen Sue Hire; a brother, John Kennard, Jr. and a sister, Janet Weaver.

Surviving are three sons, Gary (Kathy) Copley of Melbourne, FL, Ricky (Cheryl) Copley of Salvisa, KY, and Mark (Kathy) Copley of Delaware, a sister, Brenda Shonkwiler of Portsmouth, and many greatly loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Rick Mollett officiating. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery.

The family will receive guests at Brant's from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Phyllis was my sister Mildred´s friend.
Mildred died when she was only 69.
I´m the one on the tricycle. Phyllis is on the right.
