Phyllis Cross

Phyllis Jean Cross, age 66, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on November 15, 1959, in Jackson, Michigan, to Alvie and Grace Chaffin, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas White.

Phyllis is survived by her three children, Clifford (Branda) White, Charles (Brooke) Cross, and Denise Cross; her grandchildren, Evangeline Rautiola, Elsie Cross, Twila Cross, Ethen Moorehead, Emilie Moorehead, Cami Reinhard, Lizzie Reinhard, and Brayden O'Dowd; her siblings, Joan (Ron) Deem, Carol (Phil) Waudby, Ronald White, and Delores Wheeler; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Phyllis had a passion for cooking and enjoyed sharing meals with those she loved. She worked as a bartender for many years at numerous establishments in Grass Lake, where she formed many lasting friendships. She also loved taking trips to the casinos with friends, especially enjoying dinner at the buffets.

Phyllis lived a simple life and treasured time spent with her family above all else.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 07, 2026 from 10AM until the time of services at 11AM at Apostolic Tabernacle, 1249 Ambs Drive Jackson, Michigan 49201.
