Phyllis Ann Simmons Davis, age 88 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away May 2, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, TN.
She was born May 1, 1937 in Pikeville, TN to the late Sam and Irene Simmons.
She was a long-time member of Yankeetown FWB Church. She served many years in service to the Lord as a pastor’s wife. She loved sewing, quilting and crafting. She loved spending time with her family
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Samuel Clinton Simmons and Edith Irene Cox Simmons; late husband, John Tillman Davis; son, Ronald Anthony Davis; sister, Reva Troglin; brother, Waymon Cox.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Tim (Hilda) Davis, Elisa Guthrie; sister, Treva Scarbrough; grandchildren, Chad (Jill) Davis, CeCelia (Joe) Sullivan, Shane (Michaela) Davis, Caroline (Jacob) Oakes, Reid Guthrie, Robby (Danielle) Guthrie; great grandchildren, Chloe (Kolby) Craddock, Lauryn (Chase) Craddock, Till Oakes, Lorali Oakes, Simon Davis, Nora Davis, and Esther Davis; great great granddaughter, Bailey Craddock. Also, she is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Arrangements:
The family will receive friends on Monday May 5, 2025, at Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta, TN from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.
The service will be held on Tuesday May 6, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta, TN and officiating will be Bro. Bill Montandon. Interment will follow in the Blankenship Cemetery.
