Phyllis was born July 29, 1949 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the oldest of two children born to Stanley and Rose (Diser) Davis. She attended school within the Marshalltown Community School District and became a graduate of Marshalltown High School in the Class of 1967.
Phyllis’ career was spent working in the offices of Marshalltown High School, Haupert, Robertson and King Law office, First Lutheran Church in Newton and People Rides. Phyllis retired from People Rides in order to care for her parents until the time of their passing.
Anyone who knew Phyllis knew that she was an animal lover through and through. Her pets over the years included raccoons, cats, fox, horses, a jackrabbit and dogs. Her current dog Lillie even dined on McDonalds hamburgers and Arby’s roast beef sandwiches. Phyllis would be seen often in the hall of her apartment with her dog and was appreciative of her neighbors who understood her love of pets. She also enjoyed going on nightly rides with her parents to look for wildlife. This tradition continued after their passing with her Aunt Elsie. Phyllis enjoyed family get togethers, weekend camping trips, game shows, puzzles and movies, (especially Fast and Furious movies with her nieces). Her cousin Karen also reminisced of lengthy bike rides that ended at Diamond Daves with chips, salsa and margaritas. Recently, she and Mike did their best at keeping the Davis tradition of enjoying ice cream no matter what the doctor said.
Those left to remember and cherish Phyllis’ memory are her brother, Mike (Robyn) Davis; her nieces, Emily (Scot) Moore, Jeni Davis and Maggie Davis; great-nephews, Will and Michael Moore; an aunt and numerous cousins.
She was preceded by her parents, Stanley and Rose Davis; her paternal and maternal grandparents and aunts and uncles.
