Phyllis J. Deitering, 97, of New Haven, Indiana passed away Tuesday evening, March 4, 2025, at Golden Years Homestead in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was born on June 8, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late George C. and Vernon B. (Emerick) Corville. Phyllis was united in marriage to Robert R. Deitering on November 22, 1945, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 1997.
Phyllis was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church in New Haven, Indiana.
She retired in 2001 with 20 years of service from Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne as a nutrition aide.
Phyllis spent many years sewing and quilting.
She is survived by her daughter, Kaitlyn Laurie of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin; son, Randy W. Dietering of Chapin, South Carolina; son, Robert G. Deitering New Haven, Indiana; daughter, Beth Martinez of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Brenda Bodie of Woodburn, Indiana; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane France and Kathleen Gronau; and her daughter-in-law, Christanne Deitering.
Private family services will be held at a future date with burial at Antioch Cemetery in Hoagland, Indiana.
Preferred memorials can be given to New Haven United Methodist Church.
