Phyllis Freda

Phyllis (Scapicchio) Freda, 95 years of age, passed away on Friday, April 4th at the Prescott Nursing Home in North Andover, MA. She was born on August 26, 1929 to Sebastian and Antonette (Giullo) Scapicchio in Jamaica Plain, MA. Phyllis had a very long, successful hair dressing career, owning her own business as well as working for others. Her whole life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late Peter A. Freda, and the devoted mother of Peter A. Freda and his wife Lisa of Bradenton, FL, Doreen Gondola and her husband Ray of Tewksbury, MA, and Carl Freda of Stoneham, MA. She was the loving grandmother of Adam Gondola and his wife Tia of Manchester, NH, Victoria Gondola and her partner Tory Chisolm of Forest Hills, NY, Colette Gondola and her partner Daniel DiLorenzo of Tewksbury, MA, Danielle Gondola and her partner Anthony Taylor of Canton, MA, Lauren Lawrence and her husband T.J. of Chester, NH, and Christopher Freda and his partner Chris Gao of Allston, MA. Phyllis had six beautiful great grandchildren: Savannah Gondola, Payton Taylor, Noelle DiLorenzo, Kailani Chisolm, Zachary Lawrence and Joshua Lawrence, and is survived by her dear brother Anthony J. Scapicchio and his wife Marylou of Melrose, MA.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Thursday, April 10th from 4 through 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 11th at 10 AM, concluding with burial at Saint Michael Cemetery, Roslindale.
