Edward Patrick Flynn, 87, of Medford MA died peacefully at home on August 25, 2025, surrounded by his family. The son of Thomas and Ann Flynn, he was born on November 18, 1937, in Falkirk, Scotland and emigrated from Scotland to the United States in June of 1967 where he worked as an engineer with Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge and with Haemonetics Corporation of Braintree, to name a few. Edward was a dedicated churchgoer who became a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. He received the Cheverus Medal from Cardinal Sean O'Malley for his many services to the church.

Edward is predeceased by his son Jeremy and brother Patrick. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Susan; daughter Cara and son-in-law Joseph Forcellati of Medford; son, Gabriel Grey of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his lovely granddaughters, Nina and Sarah Forcellati; his brother Thomas and sister Elizabeth Ann of California and their families, and sister Margaret of Scotland and her family; sister-in-law, Maureen Flynn of Tewksbury and her granddaughters, Faith and Grace; grandson Michael Swansburg, wife Rachel and their children Michael Jr. and Livia; and grandson Ian Flynn as well as many cousins and their families in Ohio.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 9 AM to 10:30 AM in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford. His Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street. Medford on Saturday at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward's memory to The Community Family of Medford where Edward attended a few days a week, or Mystic Valley Elder Services who helped Edward to receive the help and care he needed to be able to remain at home.
