Phyllis Freemon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home - Portland on Jan. 22, 2025.
Phyllis Ann "Annie" Freemon of Nashville, TN (most recent Oakland, TN) passed away on January 16, 2025 at the age of 80. She was born on August 12, 1944 in Nashville, TN, then moved to Texas where she raised her family. When her children were grown, she then moved back to Nashville, TN to focus on her career in the hotel industry. She also reconnected with James "Buddy" Glasgow and they remained together until her passing.
She graduated from East High School in Nashville, TN in 1962.
Besides being a full-time mom to Christie, Jerry, Gary and Lance, she worked as a manager for the Fannie Mae Candy and as Special Services manager at the Opryland Hotel and Best Western Hotel. She was actively involved in all things sports. She and Buddy shared the love of watching Vanderbilt baseball and girls basketball games. She and Buddy loved gathering with old classmates from East High School, having breakfast, reminiscing about old times. She also enjoyed traveling with her granddaughters for their junior and college sports; Ashley for her golf and Madison for her basketball. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Christine Freeman and brothers Frank and Jimmy Freeman.
She is survived by her four children: Christie Weldon (Steve), Jerry Freemon (Dana McDowell), Gary Freemon (Sandy) and Lance Freemon (Jennifer Eggleston), six grandchildren Ashley Averitt, Madison Freemon, Lauren Freemon, Bryce Freemon, Penny Wilkins, and Chase Weldon, and four great grandchildren Emma, Oliver, Harper and Hazel.
The family would like to thank the NHC nurses and CNA's and Caris Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days. There are so many to mention, but a sincere thank you and love to Sandra Perry, CNA and nurse McKinzie Mills.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at Wilkinson and Wiseman Funeral Home on Saturday, January 25th at 11:00 am. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 am. Reception to follow.
