Gary Wade Freemon, age 57, resident of Oakland, Tennessee, departed this life Sunday, May 25, 2025 at his home.

Gary was born October 4, 1967 in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of the late Jerry Bailey Freemon and Phyllis Ann Freeman Freemon. He moved with his family at an early age to Texas and graduated from Martin High School in Arlington, Texas, Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, Texas and San Angelo State in San Angelo, Texas. He was employed at Thomson Reuters as a case law sales representative for many years and was most recently a resident of Oakland, Tennessee.

From a very young age, Gary displayed a natural gift for sports, with basketball being his first and truest love. Whether it was in the backyard, on a neighborhood basketball court, in high school gymnasiums, coaching from the sidelines or being the coach of a team, he brought intensity, skill and grace to every play. Gary's love for sports was more than just a pastime - it was a way of life, a bond he shared with his friends and family, and a legacy that will continue to live on. A quote from Michael Jordan states, "Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen." Gary made it happen - on the court and in life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Gary is survived by his wife, Sandy Freemon; two daughters, Madison Freemon of Scappoose, WA and Lauren Freemon of Oakland, TN; his son, Bryce Freemon of Scappoose, WA; his sister, Chirstie Weldon (Steve) of Oakland, TN; and two brothers, his twin brother, Jerry Freemon (Dana) of Happy Valley, OR and Lance Freemon (Jennifer) of Memphis, TN.
