Rickey DeWayne King, age 61, a resident of Somerville, Tennessee, passed away on December 23, 2025, at his residence.
Rickey was born in Somerville, Tennessee, to Morris and Loraine Thompson King. He attended Fayette County High School and later began a career in the mechanical field. Rickey was employed by Fayette County Public Works, where he proudly served as Shop Foreman.
He enjoyed drag racing, fishing, and playing pool, and loved spending time outdoors. His favorite pastimes were playing softball and baseball. Above all, Rickey loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
Rickey is survived by one daughter, Nicole Weaver (Scott); four sons, Richard King (Wendy), Joshua Taylor (Jodie Gatlin), Blake King (Lori Wilroy), and Brent King (Shelby); two brothers, James F. King (Becky) and Danny King (Melissa); fifteen grandchildren, Joshua King, Angel King, Breaonna King, Emma Pappas, Peyton Pappas, Remington Weaver, Hayden Miller, Nick Miller, Draven Taylor, Nova Taylor, Dawson King, Daisy Mae King, Brooklyn King, Audrie King, and Crew King; and three great-grandchildren, Lainey King, Sonnie King, and Alonna King. He also leaves his lifelong best friend, Shelia Watkins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stacey King; his parents Morris and Loraine King, one daughter, Kasie King; and one brother, James E. King.
All memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Services for Rickey DeWayne King will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 12:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, at Peebles Funeral Home – West Chapel. Interment will follow in Somerville City Cemetery.
