Phyllis Ann Goad age 79, departed this life on Saturday February 8, 2025. She was born on August 6, 1945 to the late Ronald and Ester Foster Shepard. Phyllis was the guidance counselor secretary at Scott High School for many years. She was member of the Slick Rock Missionary Baptist Church. She had a generous spirit and loved Jesus above all. She loved her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy. She will be dearly missed but always remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband: James Goad; Children: Jamie Owens and husband Jeff, Nina Michele Goad, Sean Goad and wife Sherri, Shane Goad, and Christy Dobbs and husband Wendell; Grandchildren: Rachel Cox, Travis Goad, Johnathan Chitwood, Patience Harness, and Praylee Dobbs; Great-Grandchildren: Weston Goad, Christopher Cox, Brinleigh Harness, Brensen Harness, and Ensley Williams; Brothers: Glenn Shepard, Lyndal Shepard, and Kevin Shepard; Special Nephew: Alan Shepard; Uncle: Dennis Foster; Special Friend: Donnie Bryant; Several nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday February 13, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral services to begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida with Bro. Michael Massengale officiating. Burial to follow in the Concord Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Travis Goad, Brent Harness, Alan Shepard, Johnathan Chitwood, Caleb Terry, and Daniel Terry.
