Phyllis Ann Hale

Phyllis Ann Hale, age 76, of Elizabethton, Tennessee passed away Wednesday (November 19, 2025) in Signature Healthcare at Elizabethton. Born May 18, 1949 in Skeggs, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Tolbert and Letha Lester Hale. She loved all of her friends and caretakers at Signature Healthcare, where she had won several awards including her 3rd place award for the Soccer Ball Kick. She collected stuffed animals and enjoyed watching Westerns and sports on TV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Leonard Hale, Willard Hale, Arthur Hale, and Jerry Hale; one sister, Polly Hale Neal; three in-laws, Diane Hale, Ralph Hensley, and Daniel "Jimmy" Neal; and nephew, Greg Owens.

Survivors include her sister, Mabel Marie Hale Hensley of Hampton, Tennessee; one brother, Dallas Hale and wife, Dorothy of Mendota, Virginia; three sisters-in-law, Eva Mae Hale of Honaker, Juanita Hale of Patterson, and Jearline Hale of Rowe; many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friend also survive.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her special nurse, Chelsea Kiser; all of her healthcare workers at Signature Healthcare; and her special roommate, Diane Johnson and her husband, Dave and family for all of their love and kindness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Mickey Neal and Rev. Anthony Hale officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.

Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
