Phyllis Kay Hensen

Phyllis "Kay" Hansen, age 85, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Kay was a medical assistant for many years for Dr. Silva's office. In her younger years she was a cosmetologist and owned her own salon. She was a lifetime faithful member of Henderson General Baptist Church. Kay was an excellent mother and caretaker for her daughter Devon. As a young girl she enjoyed roller skating. She had a huge collection of cardinal birds.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents A.T. and Charlene Hansen, her daughter Sabrina Devon Kloke, and her sisters Shirley Book and Barbara and her husband Johnny Bumpus.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Denise Kissel (Mark) of Mt. Vernon, IN, Renae Mendes (George) of California, Wayne Bumpus (Peggy) of California, Steve Hansen of Texas, and David Book (Jan) of Henderson, KY; brother-in-law Frank Book (Joane) of Henderson, KY; as well as several great- nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Kay's Life Celebration from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 12:00 p.m. until the service time on Monday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the funeral home. Private burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
