Phyllis "Dag" Holt

Phyllis "Dag" Holt, 79, of Clarington, formerly of Powhatan Point, Ohio, passed away suddenly in her sleep of a major heart attack on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at her residence.

She was born on August 7, 1946, in New Martinsville, West Virginia a daughter of the late Roy Franklin and Doris Evelyn (Martin) Haslam.

Dag was a vibrant and social spirit, known for her warmth and enthusiasm. She was a bartender at Hanks and Riverside, where she shared countless conversations and laughter with patrons who quickly became friends. Presently, she brought her energy to Jerry Lee's Pizza in Woodsfield, Ohio, where she continued to make connections with those around her.

Beyond her professional life, Dag had a passion for staying connected with loved ones, often through Facebook, where she kept up with friends and family far and wide. Her love for shopping, especially for sandals and purses, was well-known and brought her great joy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Brooks.

She is survived by her son, Tim (Teri) Holt; stepchildren, Henry Leroy (Sherry) Holt, Jr., first wife, Lori, Diana (Brett) Graham; grandchildren, Josh (Carli) Holt, Justin (Linda) Holt, Brett Matthew (Jenna) Graham, Jr.; many great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ronnie Brooks; and her nieces and nephews, Jackie, Danny, Toots, and Doug.

Dag's presence will be missed by all who knew her, as she leaves behind a legacy of friendship and community.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, November 15, at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home 186 Main Street, Powhatan Point, Ohio from 12:00pm until time of service at 2:00pm. Burial to follow at Powhatan Cemetery.
