OMAHA - Phyllis (Hansen) Janssen, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Metohodist Hospital, Omaha, NE. She was born on December 16, 1936 to Martin and Hilda Hansen. She was raised on their farm near Reynolds, NE and graduated from Reynolds H.S. On December 28, 1958 she married Allen Janssen and would have celebrated 66 years of marriage in December. They raised their three children; Mark, Sheri and Chris in Harbine, NE.
In 1983, Phyllis and Allen moved to Plymouth and later retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas. In February 2022, they moved back to Nebraska and lived at Parsons House Assisted Living in Omaha.
A celebration of life will take place at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Parsons House Assisted Living, 14325 Eagle Run Dr, Omaha, NE where friends and family are invited to gather.
Additionally, a Christian funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1100 G St, Fairbury, Nebraska. All are welcome to attend.
She is survived by her husband, Allen of Omaha: her daughter, Sheri Anderson and husband Terry of Omaha; son, Chris Janssen and wife, Christi of Scandia, Kansas; five grandchildren; Taylor Anderson of Salt Lake City, Utah; Ryan Anderson of Golden, Colorado; Bridget Hatfield and husband Kirk of Earlham, Iowa; Elizabeth Paschke and husband, Myrl of Holly, Michigan; Samuel Janssen and wife, Amanda of Houston, Texas; and four great-grandchildren who called her Gigi: Maeve, Malachi, Mya, and Dax.
Preceded in death by her son, Mark Janssen, brothers: Dale Hansen and Wayne Hansen, and her parents.
