Phyllis King, a longtime resident of the Warsaw area, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, at Miller's Merry Manor in Warsaw. She was 91 years old.
Phyllis was born on June 19, 1932, in Lafayette, the daughter of George and Aline {Baldwin} Brinson. Phyllis attended schools in the Lafayette area and it was there that she met the love of her life, Dallas King. They were married on January 28, 1950 and enjoyed 59 years together. Phyllis dedicated herself to being a kind and selfless woman who raised six children and supported her husband in his business endeavors whenever she could.
In her spare time, Phyllis found joy in reading inspirational novels and remained faithful in her daily Devotional. She had a talent for sewing and made many of her own clothes when she was younger. Additionally, she would create beautiful garments and keepsakes for both her family and friends.
Phyllis will be deeply missed by her surviving family members including her children: Sarah Jane (Larry) Dunn of Warsaw, Deana (Dan) Freeman of Warsaw, Rita (Tim) Tharp of Warsaw and Roger King of Milford; sisters, Georgia Hinrichs and Sue Evans of Lafayette; daughters-in-law Mary King (wife of Richard King) and Jean King (wife of John King); as well as nineteen grandchildren, forty-nine great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dallas King; sons, John and Richard King; parents, George and Aline Brinson; siblings: Robert Brinson, Charles Brinson and Barb Robinson and daughter-in-law Val King (wife of Roger King).
The memory of Phyllis will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her nurturing spirit, loving nature, and unwavering devotion to family will serve as an inspiration to all.
Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw is entrusted with care of Phyllis and the King family. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 3 to 6 p.m. A Life Celebration funeral will take place at Pathway Church, 2402 Old Road 30 West, Warsaw on Tuesday, November 21 beginning at Noon; doors will be open for one hour prior to the service for visitation and gathering. Burial will follow the Life Celebration at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Grandson, Dallas Tharp will officiate Phyllis' services.
Written condolences may be left for the family at www.TitusFuneralHome.com while memorial gifts may be given to Pathway Church or Promedica Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home and church.
