Phyllis Jean Locey, age 94, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, PA. She was born on March 8, 1930, in Wellsboro, PA, a daughter of Burt and Mary (Westbrook) Jessup. Phyllis was married to the late Irwin Locey. She worked for Dresser Manufacturing. Phyllis enjoyed playing tennis, softball, cards, bowling, spending time with family, and reading.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Jeffery (Sally) Locey of Elmira, NY, James Locey of Tioga, PA, Jerome (Terri) Locey of Wellsboro, PA, and Jon (Bonnie) Locey of Wellsboro, PA; seven grandchildren, Caitlin Locey, Jacob (Erika) Locey, Eric (Kelsey) Locey, Matthew (Alison) Sherman, Lucas (Anjie) Sherman, Katie Sherman, and Blake Sherman; four great grandchildren, Lincoln Locey, Dustin Sherman, Derek Sherman, and Daughtry Sherman; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Emogene and Ben Damdly of York, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, George Jessup; a sister, Jerrie Perry; and a granddaughter, Krystan Sherman.
A private service will be held at Wellsboro Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Packer Park 14 Crafton St. Wellsboro, PA 16901. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA is assisting the family. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
