Phyllis Miller

Phyllis, of Grant Township, was born on November 21, 1953 and passed away on July 21, 2025. Preceded in death by parents, Arvin and Patricia ZaiKaner; sister, Amy ZaiKaner Levey; and hundreds of honored ancestors. Survived by her beloved husband, Scott; sons, Alex (Samantha Reith) ZaiKaner Miller and George ZaiKaner Miller; grandsons, Rio, Knox, and Banx; sister, Jeannie (Bob Fink) ZaiKaner; brother-in-law, Tom Miller; and sister-in-law, Joanie (Bruce) Davidson. Phyllis, an intelligent and energetic woman, worked many decades as an RN and medical diagnostic researcher. She was a member of the AALNC, where she was recognized for her many significant contributions. Through her medical research, Phyllis discovered previously unknown drug interactions used by the medical community today. She was a lifelong member of Mount Zion Temple. Phyllis enjoyed her home, known as "The Compound", because it was always filled with family, friends, and friends of friends. She treasured her lake home, her children, and her three grandsons. Her cooking was legendary and her gardening, supreme. We have lost a light in our lives and are grateful for the time we had with her. We wish to thank the staff at HCMC and the University of Minnesota for the excellent care Phyllis received. Funeral service 11:00 am FRIDAY, July 25th at MOUNT ZION TEMPLE, 1300 Summit Ave., St. Paul and will be livestreamed at www.hodroffs.com/PhyllisMiller (link also found below). Shiva 7:00 pm Saturday, July 26th at the Mendota Heights Community Room, 730 South Plaza Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to the Mount Zion Temple Building & Maintenance Fund.
