Phyllis Kay Powell, 72, wife of 54 years to William “Freddy” Powell, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024.
Her love for children and animals will forever be embraced, as well as her work ethic, and since of humor. She would tell each of us to, "take the boat ride, dance to good music, eat chicken with your fingers, and to enjoy life, because she loves you!"
Born in Athens, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin Woods and Doris Toney Woods, grandmother to the late Michayla Staton and sister to the late Ray Woods, Martha Pulliam, and sister in law to "Zeke" Gary Powell.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Freddy, include one daughter and son in law: Sharan and Casey Staton; grandson: Dylan Staton; in laws: Susan Woods, Wayne and Julia Ann Powell, Jerry and Pat Powell, Terry and Dale Powell, Veronica and Randy Doster-Booth and a multitude of cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that are like family.
