Phyllis Price

1935 - 2026

With profound respect and heartfelt memories, we honor the life of Phyllis A. Price, who was born on September 25, 1935, in Green Lake County, WI, USA, and passed away peacefully with many loved ones at her side on February 5, 2026. Phyllis, a beacon of love, faith, and service, resided in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, for the last 2.5 years of her life to be closer to her daughter who helped with her medical care. She was a long time resident of Poynette, Wisconsin. She lived her life with purpose and compassion, touching countless lives through her work as a devoted school teacher, Lutheran Pioneer leader, and her numerous charitable endeavors.

Phyllis, a graduate of UW Madison, devoted her career to nurturing young minds in the Portage School District. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society and a dedicated volunteer at the voting polls.

Phyllis married James Price on February 2, 1957, in Friesland, WI. they later divorced in 1994. Her hobbies were a reflection of her creative spirit and generous heart. From early childhood, Phyllis nurtured her passion for sewing, creating beautiful handcrafted gifts for her loved ones, and donating Linus quilts and pillowcases for veterans serving overseas. She loved the outdoors and made sure her children grew up in the country. Her love for travel brought her to every state and across international borders, and her love for dance was evident in her younger years when she enjoyed square dancing. Phyllis's life was a testament to her Lutheran faith, as she served in various areas in the Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington, including as a youth leader and 4-H Leader.

Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Roxanne (Kim Hammer) Price, Pamela (Chris) Williams and Brenda Price; her grandchildren, Carmen (Jeremy) Keating, Arin Willems, Sarah (Jason Fillner) Rybicki and Michele (Ivan) Haro; her great grandchildren, Nick Rybicki, Ethan Rybicki, Landon Miles, Stella Rybicki, Aiden Keating, Jaxon Keating, Lihana Williams and Aniston Haro; and her brother, Ray (Georgene) Steinich; sister, Dawn (Roger) Hasz; She was predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Frances Steinich; daughters, Carol Price, Kim Jochem; and brothers, Rhys and Gene Steinich.

The visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, W6906 County Road K, Arlington, Wisconsin, 53911, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 9:00 am CST, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am CST. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all the family and friends for all the care and support they have shown to Phyllis and her family.
