Phyllis Ann Waldroup Ramey, age 74, of Lincolnton passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. She was born on June 5, 1950, the daughter of the late William “Pearlie” and Edith Phillips Waldroup. Phyllis was a Christian who found purpose in the textile industry as a spinner before becoming a trainer for new employees. Her kindness and warmth made everyone feel like family, as she consistently put others' needs before her own. With a nurturing spirit, Phyllis lovingly babysat and cared for many children. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, teaching everyone the profound importance of forgiveness. Her passion for reading and dancing, combined with her lively sense of humor, brought joy and surprise to those around her. Though she will be greatly missed, her loving spirit will forever inspire us and remain in our hearts. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 10 years Roger Ramey; step-daughter Deborah Hill; brother Harold Waldroup; and sister Shirley Erwin.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children Shelley Wiggins (Lee), Lindsey Morgan, Mandy Cole (Pat), and Nicholas Ramey (Carrie); brothers Eugene Waldroup (Alice) and Lewis Waldroup; sisters Brenda Bailey, Tammy Waldroup (David), and Carolyn McLemore (Frankie); grandchildren Zain, Skylin, and Destiny Morgan, Jessica Smith (Jason), and Hannah Wiggins; along with a number of nieces, nephews, and friends that she loved dearly and took care of.
