Skoglund, Phyllis Marie
Phyllis Marie Skoglund passed away on February 28, 2025. She was born on July 10, 1927, in Deer Creek, IL, to Daniel and Zula Belle (Alexander) White.
Phyllis attended Eureka College in Eureka, IL, where she met and married her beloved husband, Bill Skoglund, on September 9, 1949. They lived in Peoria, IL, until 1958, when the family moved to Aurora. Phyllis stayed home to care for their three children-Bill Jr., Beth, and Matt-as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and baker, especially known for her cookies and pies. She enjoyed working puzzles, playing cards, reading, and spending time with her family.
Her surviving family includes her three children: Bill Jr. (Angie) Skoglund, Beth Kleren, and Matt (Jeff) Skoglund; her grandchildren Andrea (Emerson) Lacey, Chris (Ryan) Graves, Dave Kleren Jr., Laura (Justin) Barker, Joey (Greg) Claussen, Pam (Josh) Lower, and Erik, Daniel (Carly), and Megan Skoglund; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Carol Beecher, her brother Dave White, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, Bill Skoglund, her brother Bob White, and her sister Erma Pioletti.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 9 a.m. until the time of service immediately following at 10 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8S055 Dugan Road, Sugar Grove, IL 60554.
A private inurnment will take place at a later date, Glendale Cemetery, Washington, IL.
