Phyllis J. Solinsky, 81, of Brookville, died on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at her home following an illness.
Born on May 15, 1943 in Richardsville, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Madelyn Young Knapp.
She was a graduate of Brookville High School and of Methodist faith.
Prior to her retirement in 2015 she had been employed by Brookville Glove Factory as a seamstress.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning as well as being an avid STEELER fan. Known for her sewing skills she proudly made her daughters Prom Gowns and Wedding Dresses.
Her survivors include her daughters, Cindylou (Robert) Beiter, Cathy (Micheal) Mosely and Shawna (Sonny) Postlewaite, Jr.;her grandchildren, Adrielle, Shealene, Maria, Randy Jr., Cody, Alex, Jerilyn, Halee, Shelby and Kayla; her 16 great grandchildren; her sister, Alma (Rodger) Strauss; and her Life Partner, James Harvey.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth; a daughter, Gena; as well as her brothers, Marlin and Glenn.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 12:30-3PM at the Social Hall at the Brookville Area Food Bank, 142 Allegheny Blvd., Brookville, PA. 15825.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mrs. Solinsky.
