Our beloved, Phyllis Victoria Squiric, 93, of Plano, Texas, and formally of Niles, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, July 29, 2023, at her home with family at her side.
Phyllis was born December 21, 1929, in Youngstown, Ohio to James and Mary Candelore. She was preceded in death by her sister Helen Tibero of Steubenville Ohio and three brothers, Albert Candelore of Ogden, Utah, William Candelore of Toledo, Ohio, Gene Candelore of San Diego, California.
After graduating high school, her first job was as a bookkeeper for the local telephone company in Niles. She worked most of her life and kept working as a cashier for a local grocery store while she and her husband raised their four children. Some of her many long time friendships were formed during this time. Phyllis enjoyed singing in the church choir and had a talent for producing beautiful ceramic art.
Phyllis took life as it came to her and dealt with it with grace and without much complaint. We were truly blessed to have her with us. Her memory and spirit will be with us forever. May she rest in peace. Amen.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 73 years, Steve J. Squiric of Plano Texas. Phyllis and Steve were married October 21, 1950.
She also leaves behind 4 children, Rick (Laurie) Squiric - Warrensburg, Missouri, Nancy Witkowski - Plano,Texas, William (Myrna) Squiric - Plano, Texas, John (Lisa) Squiric - Prosper, Texas, 9 grandchildren - Emily Smith, Jeffrey Squiric, Geoffrey Burrows, Amy Awad, Elena Littleton, Alise Squiric, Phillip Squiric, James Squiric, and Angela Squiric and 5 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Courtland, Ohio, at a later date. Arrangements for Phyllis have been entrusted to Allen Family Funeral Options, Plano, Texas.
