PHYLLIS JEAN STOKES

STOKES, Phyllis Jean, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Phyllis was a kindhearted, giving, and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend loved by many, her love and enjoyment of life was felt by all whom she has left behind. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to functions of the Veterans of Foreign War. She is survived by her husband, Chuck; her brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Bonnie; her brother, Eddie; her sister, Dolores; her daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Allen; her son, Joe; her grandchildren, Monica, Brian,and Olivia; her great-granddaughter, Kylie; and many other relatives and close friends. A viewing will take place on Saturday, September 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. Her funeral service will take place on Sunday, 1 p.m., September, 25, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd., Virginia Beach.
