Phyllis Warren Obituary
Phyllis Marie Warren, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 13, 2025, at the age of 74 in New Castle, Kentucky. Born on May 14, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky, she dedicated her life to caring for her home and family, serving as a homemaker who found joy in nurturing those she loved.
Phyllis is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years, Ricky Warren, along with her cherished children: Melissa Marie (George) Walker of Carrollton, Ky, Amanda (Robbie Garrett) Mitchell of Carrollton, Ky, Angela Banta of Bedford, Ky, Edward Thomas Mitchell, Jr. of Carrollton, Ky, and Jamie Clayton (Crystal) Mitchell of Owenton, Ky.. She was a proud grandmother to Heaven Walker, Brandon Walker, Jeremy Walker, Kya Mitchell, Payton Williams, Whitney Haub, Haley Burgin, Clayton Mitchell, Brandon Moscoe, Joseph Banta,Jordan Mitchell, Bri Mahoney and was blessed with several great-grandchildren.
She also leaves behind her loving siblings: Mary Ann Wentworth, Rosie Wentworth, and William Buford Long, Jr.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, William Buford Long, Sr., and Stella Long, the grandparents who raised her, Austin and Mary Long, as well as her sister, Della "Tater" Elizabeth Long.
Phyllis had a wide array of interests that brought her joy. She absolutely loved watching westerns and listening to the music of George Jones. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching horror movies, and had a soft spot for yard sales, auctions, and her collections of cookie jars and glassware. Her love for baseball and softball, alongside raising chickens, cooking for her family, playing Bingo, and fishing with her son Eddie were testaments to her warm and vibrant spirit.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service starting at 1:00 PM at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, located at 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, KY 41008.
Phyllis Marie Warren leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be forever held in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
