Phylliss Joan PJ Blackburn

Phylliss Joan "PJ" Blackburn, 53, passed peacefully December 28, 2025, through Heaven's gates with her children and siblings by her side. She was born March 19, 1972, in Hutchinson to Rickey and Marcy Hemphill Blackburn, the baby of four.

PJ was spoiled and loved by everyone who met her. She met Kyle McAllister while in school. They had a beautiful daughter, Chelsey. Later PJ met Guy Currie. They had three children- Ryan, Marcy and Matt. PJ was a born-again Christian who loved her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by her: children, Chelsey (Troy) Nietzel, Marcy and Matt Currie; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jocelyn, River and Joshua (JoJo); sister, Mickie (Steve) Blackburn; brothers, Larry (Annette) Aston and Jimmy Aston, of Hutchinson; favorite cousin, Karl Ferrell; Chad Feezor, her significant other for over 20 years; and 10 nieces and nephews who she loved and adored.

PJ was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and son, Ryan Currie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Elliott Chapel, with Misty Nixon officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Monday.
