Pierce Davison Obituary

Published by CLOSED-Crosby-N. Gray & Co. Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Jun. 20, 2018.
Beloved son of Peter and Jennifer Davison, caring brother to Robert Davison. After a valiant and hard fought twelve-month struggle with cancer, Pierce passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. Along with his immediate family, Pierce is survived by his loving grandmother Joan Concilla White of Danville, CA and his uncle and aunt, Joseph and Leslie Concilla, and cousins Jacqueline, Mark, and Caroline Concilla of San Carlos, CA. Pierce was preceded in death by his grandfather Joseph Concilla, grandparents Oscar and Barbara Davison, and uncle Thomas Davison. Pierce graduated in 2017 from Loyola Marymount University, College of Business Administration, with a major in finance and a minor in political science. Pierce was a talented athlete who grew up playing baseball and volleyball and found his passion for rugby in college. He had a talent for friendship and touched the lives of so many people with his quick wit and energetic outlook. Pierce had a lifelong love of nature and an overriding concern for the well-being of the planet and hoped that his business career would benefit the environment. He was happiest at the beach, surfing with friends, watching sunsets, and enjoying the freedom of the ocean. Pierce was born in Berkeley and grew up in Walnut Creek, California. In 2013, Pierce graduated from Las Lomas High School where he played baseball and volleyball and served on the Mock Trial and Speech and Debate teams and Film Club. Pierce loved working with children at sports camps in Italy and Lafayette. Always handsome and outgoing, Pierce also was creative and loved photography, making videos, and DJ-ing a wide range of music. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Walnut Creek, Presbyterian Church, 1801 Lacassie Avenue, Walnut Creek, CA 94596. Donations in Pierce's memory may be made to Loyola Marymount University, to the Pierce J. Davison Memorial Scholarship benefiting students in the Loyola Marymount University College of Business Administration. Checks made out to LMU (with "Pierce J. Davison Scholarship" in the memo section) should be sent to: Alma Vorst, Development Services, Loyola Marymount University, 1 LMU Drive, University Hall Suite 2800, Los Angeles CA 90045-2659, or https://giving.lmu.edu/ and indicate "Pierce J. Dear Jennifer and family. We are very sad to hear about the loss of beloved Pierce. The last we saw you all was such a long time ago when he was only a few years old. I remember him as an energetic, tall and good-looking boy. I think we were all on a trip together with grandparents. It is a fond memory that we look back on of our time together. All throughout the year, we have been thinking about Pierce and hoping for his recovery. We know how difficult this must be for all of you and we hope that the nice memories of good times you had could help you, in time, to come to terms with such a loss. We sense Pierce brought such a lot of joy and love to others around him. We are proud of him and of you for being so brave. We share in your sorrow and send you love.

The nurses on FGround remember Pierce very fondly and truly cherish the time we spent with him. His maturity and positive attitude in the most difficult of times was inspiring and serves as a guiding light for us as we continue to fight this disease in his memory. Love & light to all who loved Pierce.

So very sorry for your loss. I heard many wonderful things about Pierce from Brooke Bulmore Thompson. I was lucky to meet Jen when she visited Portland, so if Pierce is anything like his Mom or Dad, he was happy and full of life. My deepest condolences to all of you, sending prayers of peace and comfort in the hard days ahead!! Warmest Aloha, Debbie Wilkins. (Brooke and Barrie's friend)
