Piero "Pete" Bertolo

Piero "Pete" Bertolo, 86, of Simpsonville, SC, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
Raised in Sicily, he was a son of the late Anthony and Carmela Nicolosi Bertolo.
In 1978, Pete and Josephine started their first restaurant and in 1995, they opened Bertolo's Pizza on Pelham Road in Greenville.
In addition to being a successful business owner, Pete was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church where was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Pete adored his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 62 years, Josephine Bertolo; two children, Carmela "Melina" Hatley (Eric) and Anthony Bertolo; three grandchildren, Brendan Hatley (Amelia), Kara Hatley Clark (Noah) and Justin Hatley; and two great-grandchildren, Eleanor Hatley and Ian Clark.
There will be a Recitation of the Rosary at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 followed by a time of visitation until 8:00 p.m. the Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10th at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church followed by entombment in the Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
