Pierre "Ricky" LaRiviere

Pierre "Ricky" LaRiviere, 66, of Guilford passed away May 2, 2025 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Husband of the late Kathleen "Kathy" DeMezzo LaRiviere. Stepfather of Alicia (Travis) Moody and Joseph (Lynn) DelPivo all of Durham. Stepgrandfather of Kenneth Paecht, Jr., Jonathon (Jonny Bear) Paecht, Joshua Sansone, Matthew Londa, Aedan and Danica DelPivo. Brother of Shirley Kay of Orange, Norma Jurnack and Russell LaRiviere both of Wallingford, Robert LaRiviere of Summerville, SC, Roger LaRiviere of Milford and the late Ronald LaRiviere. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Ricky was born in Bridgeport on November 22, 1958, a son of the late Raymond S. and Alice Chandonnet LaRiviere. Ricky worked for the Grassy Hill Country Club for many years. He was known for his quick wit and infectious laughter, Papa was a true comedian at heart, always teasing and joking around with his grandchildren. A lifelong car enthusiast, he loved restoring classic cars. But his greatest joy came from the sidelines, never missing a football game or car race that his grandchildren participated in, cheering them on with pride and unwavering support. Rick will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his humor, love of cars, and dedication to family.A Parlor Service will be held in the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven Thursday at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Friends may call THURSDAY MORNING from 10:00 until time of Service.
