Our beloved little brother, Pierre J. Payant, 54, of Kingsford, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
Pierre was born on August 24, 1970, in Marquette, MI, son of the late John and Judith (Meyer) Payant. He graduated from Kingsford High School in Kingsford in 1988. From a very early age, Pierre was a big car enthusiast. He lived and breathed cars, auto parts and was a car stereo geek. He was very well known in the car community. Many relied on him for his wealth of knowledge about classic cars. You always found Pierre in his garage working on one of many vehicles he came across at junk yards or car shows. His passion and knowledge for cars extended beyond his professional life. If anyone ever needed assistance, he was always there. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A kind heart, his memory will live on.
Pierre had many wonderful friends who shared his passion with him. Endless thank you to Kevin, Jason, Pete, and David – too many to name.
His beloved dog, Valentine, who was by his side for the past 15 years, gave him such happiness and unwavering companionship and love. She was loyal, comforting, and a protective companion (with uncontrollable shedding!). They were lucky to have found each other. Their cherished memories will last forever.
Pierre is survived by his siblings, David Payant of Iron Mountain, Sarah (Nathann) Purvis of Afton, MI, and Amy Payant of Kingsford; five nieces and nephews, David and Tiffany Payant and Hailey, Thomas, and Charlie Weaver.
A family burial will be in Dickinson County Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Condolences may be expressed to the family of Pierre online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Kingsford Funeral Home with the arrangements.
