Pinkney Riley Jr.

Pinkney Riley, Jr., age 78, was born to the union of Dorothy Queen Riley and
Pinkney Riley, Sr., in Port Allen, Louisiana. He departed this life on Tuesday, June
3, 2025.
Pinkney attended Port Allen High School and graduated in 1967. He was employed
with Ray Marchan Construction Company until retiring after serving 30 years. He
also retired from West Baton Rouge Sheriff Department 30+ years. He was a
dedicated member of New Poplar Grove Baptist Church. Pinkney was a strong
man, full of energy, humble at all times, loving spirit, big giver and spender. His
hobbies were landscaping, hunting, fishing, and enjoying long walks to the stores.
He loved working on his truck and watching his cowboy movies.
He was preceded in death by his 1 st wife, Yvonne Marie Riley; 2 nd wife, Dianne
Martin Riley; 1 son, Pinkney Riley, III; 1 grandson, Aaron Maurice Young; 2 great
granddaughters, Alaijah McQuillan and Londynn Brooks; parents, Dorothy and
Pinkney Riley, Sr.; 1 sister, Sharon Turner Gordon, and 2 brothers, Elder Oscar
Gordon and Henry Riley.
He leaves to cherish his memories 2 daughters, Felecia Thompson and Sharon
Young of Baton Rouge; bonus daughter, Mottia Bogville (Sherrie) of Baton Rouge;
4 brothers, Freddie (Bonnie) Riley, Donald (Bobbie) Riley, Craig (Mary) Gordon,
and Darryl Gordon; adopted sister, Melody (Michael) Brittain; 2 Godchildren,
Jaqueline Frank and Harrah Cage; special friend, Greg Johnson; 10 grandchildren,
Elliot Jermaine McQuillan, Sr., Jasmine Smith, Terrica Lewis, Keisha Houston,
Kelly Smith, La'Keisha Franklin, Shaneika Smith, Sheniece Simpson, Trevionte
Simpson, and Ayden Simpson, and a host of great grandchildren, great great
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
