Piper Raynes Carter, age 10, of Baxley passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at Memorial Health Children’s Hospital in Savannah.
Piper was born May 20, 2014 in Brunswick and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was in the 5th grade at Appling Elementary School and was an honor roll student and was the Artist of the month. Piper was on the swim team and the Garden Club.
Piper’s family includes her parents, Joshua & Brooke Brown Carter; sister, Coast Carter of Baxley; brother, Reef Carter of Baxley; maternal grandparents, Bender & Linda Brown of Baxley; paternal grandfather, Dale Carter of Baxley; and paternal great grandmother, Janie Carter of Baxley. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Matt Nencioni, Pete Howard, Dewey Brown, Braz Brown, Jake Carter & Mike Miles.
A visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, Piper’s family requests memorial contributions to the American Red Cross (www.redcross.org), the Cure Foundation (www.curechildhoodcancer.org) or to any type of cancer research foundation.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
