It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Piper Ann Morrow, a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend. Piper was born on January 9th, 2014, in Ocean Springs, MS, and gained her butterfly wings on Saturday, December 16th, 2023, in New Orleans, LA, surrounded by those she cherished. She was just nine years old.
Piper's life was filled with love and joy. She had an unwavering bond with her sister Dacey, and whatever her mother loved, she loved too. Piper's favorite colors were purple and red, reflecting her vibrant spirit and zest for life. She brought light and happiness to everyone she encountered.
As a student at Oak Park Elementary School in Ocean Springs, MS., Piper approached her education with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Outside of school, Piper had a variety of interests and hobbies that brought her endless delight. She could often be found watching Steve Harvey and Family Feud or listening to Story Bots and Christian music by artists like Mercy Me and Crowder. Piper also harbored a fascination for caterpillars.
Piper leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be cherished by her adoring family. She is survived by her parents Aubrey and Rachel (nee Pierce) Morrow; her sister Dacey will forever carry the bond they shared close to her heart. Piper was also a treasured granddaughter, niece, and friend. She is survived by her grandparents Jeff and Denise Morrow, Tracy and Jon Loll, James and Gail Pierce; great-granddaughter to Linda Tolbert and Sarah Pierce. As well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to her family, Piper had many dear friends who brightened her days. Brantly and Sam were among those she cherished deeply. Alanna Mejia, Piper's longtime teacher, played an instrumental role in shaping her education and nurturing her love for learning.
She is preceded in death by her great grandparents Clyde and Joyce Morrow, Leroy Harris, Everett Tolbert, and Preston Pierce; and her uncles Timothy Laird and Pete Morrow.
Piper Ann Morrow may have left this world too soon, but she will never be forgotten. Her infectious laughter, compassionate nature, and vibrant spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Though our hearts ache with grief at the loss of such a special soul, we find solace in the knowledge that Piper touched countless lives during her time with us.
Visitation will be held at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd, West Jackson, from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 12:00 - Noon on Friday, December 22, 2023. Piper will be laid to rest in Biloxi National Cemetery immediately following.
Attendees are asked to wear one of Piper's favorite colors, purple or red.
Let us remember Piper not with sorrow but with love – a love that outshines any darkness and carries her beautiful spirit into eternity. "What the caterpillar calls the end, the rest of the world calls a butterfly." - Lao Tzu
