With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Polli Anne Jefferys, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She passed peacefully on January 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 70 years old. Born on October 7, 1954, Polli was a pillar of strength and a beacon of light. She was full of love, laughter, generosity, and resilience; her warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her.
Polli lived a life of simplicity and cherished her role as "Grandma Polli". She was an amazing mother and best friend to her daughter Nicole. Polli loved nature's beauty and enjoyed watching the beautiful birds who visited her yard and treasured the many trips taken with her husband to beaches and mountainous areas. She found joy in literature and spent many hours lost in a good book; she was a gifted artist and painter.
Polli is survived by her loving husband, Karl Jefferys; daughter, Nicole Hermes (Michael); grandchildren, Dakoda Dugger and Taylor Guysick (Robert); great-granddaughter, Georgia Mae Welsh; sisters, Mary Milford and Susan Myers (John); brother, Fred Sickels (Sandy); special niece, Jacqui Pruszynski; many nephews and nieces, and numerous other loved ones. Polli is preceded in death by her mother, Emma Sickels; father, Joseph Pyle; stepmother, Josephine Pyle; stepfather, Duane Sickels; and sister, Sharon Gray.
While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering. She leaves an unfillable void in our lives, yet we will treasure the memories and everlasting love we shared. Polli will live in our hearts forever.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Barb Jefferys and Heidi Roberts. We are deeply grateful for the kindness and compassion you extended to our family during Polli's extended illness.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305. Polli will be privately laid to rest at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls.
