Polly Ellen (Meyer) Johnson, 70, of New Castle passed away peacefully surrounded by her grandchildren, on Friday morning, January 16, 2026, in UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Polly was born May 21, 1955, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Harriet (Lusk) Meyer. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from New Castle High School in 1973.
Her loving husband of 50 years, Lawrence “Andy” Johnson, whom she married July 13, 1974, preceded her in death on September 10, 2024.
Previously a homemaker, Polly retired from Adams Manufacturing, Portersville, PA, where she had worked as a machinist for many years.
Polly was of the Episcopalian faith and was active in the Girl Scouts of America while raising her children.
An avid baker, she enjoyed watching game shows on television, especially Jeopardy! and The Price Is Right, and working on crossword puzzles. Polly also spent much of her time reading and playing guitar.
Polly is survived by a son, Evan A. Johnson, of Beverly, KY; a daughter, Amanda E. Fallecker, of Pomona Park, FL; a brother, David Meyer (Marsha); and a sister, Sally Stoner (Dale), all of New Castle; eight grandchildren, Julie, James, Jonathan, Christina, Bridgette, Abigail, Taylor, and Dylan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Polly was preceded in death by a brother, Wylie E. Meyer.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
