Polly Morris

Polly M. Morris, of the Woodlands, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 8th at Sundale Assisted Living following an extended illness at the age of 87. She was born on October 21, 1938 to parents, Muriel Strange and James Wright.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Don Morris, her daughter Polly Morris Israel, her sister Pat Becker and Rivera, her brothers; Guy Wright, Gayland Hooper, Jimmy Hooper, and Kenny Hooper, and her parents Murial and James. She leaves behind her children, Lydonna Jennings, Lydia Solomon and husband Paul Goins, Terry Dixon and husband Michael Dixon, Donald Gene Morris, and adopted daughter Carmody Quinn as well as her brother, Matt Hooper. She also left behind her grandchildren: Lyeslie Henderson, Jason Solomon, Earnie Solomon, Emily Dixon, Andy Dixon, great grandchildren Jamie Solomon, Isobel Solomon, Tyler Henderson, Brody Henderson, and Piper Henderson. She also left behind beloved nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.

She was born in High Island, and raised in the surrounding Houston area. She retired from her career as a secretary of 25 yrs at Brown and Root.

Polly was a devoted volunteer as she donated her time to the Houston County Visitors and Train Museum, and Project Read, as well as volunteering at her church, All Saints Episcopal. She belonged to several community clubs such as, DAR, TDRT, Eastern Star, and Pilot Club.
