Porfirio "Pilo" Tejeda

April 22, 1931 – November 4, 2025, Porfirio “Pilo” Tejeda, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peace fully on November 4, 2025, at the age of 94. Pilo was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 75 years, Rita Tejeda; his son, David Tejeda; and his granddaughter, Sooner Bell. He is survived by his daughters, Annette Le Rose (Carl) and Tere Boyd (Mark); his grand children, Jacelyn Bell and Joseph David Tejeda (Kinga); as well as his great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy. Pilo lived a life of service and joy. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later dedicated 25 years to the El Paso Fire De partment, retiring as a Lieutenant. Never one to slow down, he went on to run his own bartending business—where, true to his nature, he never served a stranger. In addition, he also worked part time at The Popular Dry Goods Company. Known for his servant’s heart, boundless energy, and infectious spirit, Pilo touched the lives of ev eryone he met. He was the hardest-working man his family knew and the life of every gathering. His laughter and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6, at 1:00 p.m. with the United States Navy Honors to be rendered at 1:30 p.m. and Firefighter Honors at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Dr., El Paso, Texas 79904.
