Prabhakar Vishwanathan

Prabhakar Vishwanathan (Prabhu), 45, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, in Chantilly, Virginia.
Born Sunday, October 7, 1979, in New Delhi, India, he was the son of Viswanathan and Parvathy. Prabhu leaves many to cherish his memory and achievements including his parents, his brother Deepu, his sister-in-law Geetha, nephew Arya and niece Navyaa, and numerous family members.
Anybody who has come into contact with Prabhu knows that he is one of the most affectionate and lovable human beings they have met. Prabhu touches people in his own unique way of charm and warmth, which brings a smile to everyone who meets him. This is despite the significant challenges that he faced because of his Down's Syndrome condition. But this did not stop him from achieving so much in life.
Prabhu played the musical keyboard and gave numerous performances. He was athletic despite his special needs, and won a gold medal in cycling in the Special Olympics. He was well-versed in yoga and regularly gave asana demonstrations in his school shows. He became a shop assistant in a Titan Watches showroom and was a darling employee among his colleagues. He was recognized for his achievements by the Government of India in 2008 with a "Role Model" award on World Disability Day.
Above all, what is most inspiring is his resilience and fortitude. He has never once in his life complained about anything or made any show of disappointment or regret. Prabhu was diagnosed with Young-Onset Parkinsonism four years ago. This added complexity to his already unique journey. He went through every hurdle cheerfully with a smile on his face, with the smile fading only when things got too much even for his spirit.
Prabhu will be missed in this world, but he has moved on to bring happiness and joy to another world. He will continue to bless us, smile at us and inspire us to greater heights as we remember his personality, his achievements and his presence.

The family will receive guests for visitation from 1:00Pm to 2:00PM on Monday March 17, 2025, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175. Hindu rituals will follow at 2:00 PM.
