PRAKASH G. SANE
Age 81, Dr. Prakash G. Sane passed away Tuesday, June 10th at his home with his beloved wife of 52 years by his side.
Born in Pune India, Dr. Prakash Sane lived a life defined by service, joy, intellect, and humility. A brilliant academic and compassionate soul, Prakash earned his MD at TNMC in Mumbai followed by further training at the Royal Free Hospital in London and Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
A respected physician for more than 45 years, Prakash practiced at Oak Forest Hospital and also at Advocate South Suburban Hospital where he received the Founder's Award for exceptional leadership and dedication to the community. Prakash devoted his life to family, religion and medicine. A beloved Doctor, cherished by his patients- his commitment to healing was unwavering.
He was a devotee of Lord Krishna, a sadhak and follower of PP Sou. Shakatai Agate.
Prakash was more than a physician-in his earlier years, he enjoyed cricket and served as Captain of his high school cricket team, playing carrom, listening to Indian classical music and learning how to play multiple Indian instruments. He especially loved playing the keyboard at night, recreating songs he had heard or creating his own. He was patient, the best listener and had a zealous passion for learning fueled by curiosity- he also was a connoisseur of naps!
He and Anjali came to America in the early 1970's. They settled and raised their three boys in Olympia Fields, Illinois. His greatest joys were his family, friends and his grandsons, Nayan and Luca, who affectionately called him "Aba". As Aba, Prakash was youthful and experienced wonderful energy around his grandchildren who were a light in his life.
He is survived by his loving family: wife Anjali, children Neelesh, Nitin (Jamie), and Amit (Holly) Sane, grandchildren Nayan and Luca Sane, sisters Pratibha Phadke and Manda Datar, brother-in-law Vasant and Sadhana Kale, and nieces and nephews Chetan and Rohit Kale, Rashmi, Rahul, Nandan, Leena and Bhagyashree. Prakash is reunited with his father Govind D. Sane, mother Vimal Govind Sane, brother Ashok Govind Sane, father-in-law Mahadev R. Kale, and Anjali's mother Ahilya Kale and step-mother Sindu M. Kale.
The tidal wave of heartfelt messages, shared memories, visits pouring in since his passing is a testament to the lives he touched and the joy he radiated.
Those who knew Prakash will remember him for his infectious smile, deep-rooted faith and unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone he encountered. Prakash leaves us smiling-because that is how he lived. He was a healer of bodies and spirits and a man who carried joy wherever he went.
Services will be held at Sullivan McCauley, 530 W. Boughton Rd, Bolingbrook, IL 60440.

Dearest Dr. Prakash Sane was one of the most wonderful people I've had the pleasure to know. For 53 years, his enduring kindness, his guidance, his knowledge, and his optimism is unparalleled, and has left an impression deep inside my heart.

I was 10 years old when I became a patient at his office in Oak Forest, IL. He was a caring Doctor with an approach of whole person medicine and practical advice. Over the many years, I have admired him for his "patience with his patients" as he cared for many people and even generations including my Aunt and Grandmother.

In my 20s he had been instrumental in my Healthcare and fought for me to have proper medicine and support. He always practiced with mind and body holistic ideals that were far advanced for that time.

We grew to be close friends over the years and remained in close touch always, even across the miles. When I moved to California, I was so worried and asked Dr "how will I get by without you being my doctor?" He said to find a new Dr there, and he will conference with the new guy and show them the ropes- and he did ! Dr Sané was always so comforting and he was funny too- great sense of humor and always laughing... always on the bright side of life.

His trip here with Anjali and 2 of his 3 wonderful sons was a fantastic highlight in my life, and a testament to our loyal friendship.

My heart goes out to his dear wife Anjali, Dr's 3 incredible sons and daughter in law, and his 2 cutest grandsons and all extended family, which were always and in all ways the lights of his life, his existence ...I pray for your strength and comfort during this time of great loss

I already miss Dr. Sané so very much as I love him dearly ...If there is anything I can do please call on me
